"The journey chose him, but the adventure was his to choose. To choose is to know the pleasure of freedom, or is it the freedom of pleasure? - The Perils of Ayden; Erwin McManus, Chasing Daylight
“Rumblings are more felt than heard and certainly never seen. They come to you through the soles of your feet into the depth of your soul. Only then do they open the eyes of your heart. They speak of a shift that is about to take place." –Kember, The Perils of Ayden; Erwin McManus, Chasing Daylight
Almost one year ago, I was being prayed over by some girls and my friend had a vision. Her face full of delight she repeated over and over, "This like never happens, not to me, this like never happens!" I asked her what she saw, and she shared that she saw me standing in Africa surrounded by people and holding up a beaker like container." At this point in our friendship, she had no knowledge of my desire to go to South Africa, that there was even a possibility that I could study abroad, or of the fact that just a couple days prior I had turned in my application for APU's South Africa Semester.
I have less than 2 weeks now until I board the plane for South Africa. I can feel the "rumblings." I don't quite know what to expect, but I sense there is "a shift about to take place." I am excited to be immersed into another culture, to see more of God's creation, to be uncomfortable and stretched, to learn and grow, to serve, and to continue to be shaped by God. Let the adventure begin!
I'm so proud of you for taking on this adventure during your Senior year of college. Wish I could experience this with you.
